Christy Lynch, owner & lead designer

Steel Roots Home Decor opened in 2017. It didn’t take long for the Steel Roots design studio and boutique furniture store to become a local favorite.

“Creating a design is a process. It is important for me to take the time to learn a client’s style and how they intend to use the space, as today’s homes are lived in and must be functional. I visit various national and international markets so that I can touch and feel products and learn about current and up-and-coming trends. I never want to be led or ruled by trends but to use them to create a design that is current but not trendy. This is the Style. Function. Beauty. approach that I bring to all of my designs.”

In the fall of 2022, Christy officially became an empty nester. She enjoyed her time in Chapel Hill, but a new chapter in her life prompted her to return to Northern Virginia. In the spring of 2023, Steel Roots closed its doors. Christy now lives in Upperville, Virginia, with her two dogs, Eddie and Louis.
